The Tanaka Family lives in Okawa, a city about 40 minutes away from Kurume. Mr. Tanaka grows strawberries in large plastic greenhouses that look like quansit huts. They have two daughters in their 20s. One of them is working in a bank, and the other is helping with the strawberries. The whole family is still grieving over the tragic death last year of their teenage son.
Recently, Mrs. Tanaka was told she had and advanced case of cancer. She has had surgery, and is undergoing chemo, but the doctors don't hold out much hope for her.
All of the family are Christians, and Taemi has a beautiful faith and confidence about seeing the Lord. Pray that there will be healing if the Lord wills, and each family member will be comforted, strengthened, and empowered to be a faithful witness during this difficult time.
